Halloween is a fun and festive time for many, but to animals it can seem a bit too spooky! We would like to share our tips for Halloween Pet Safety.
Some potential threats to our animals would be:
- Chocolate (which can be lethal to dogs)
- Glow sticks can irritate a dogs mouth if chewed
- Pet Costumes should fit properly and not have loose pieces they can get caught up in, or choke on
- Many pets will go missing on Halloween night when they are able to sneak out of a frequently opened door.
- Costumes and masks can make even the friendliest dog anxious, which can increase the possibility of a bite occurance. Fear can make pets do things they typically would not do.
TIPS for this Halloween:
- Be sure your pet has proper identification such as a Microchip, and/ or ID tags
- Keep chocolate, candy, candles, and decorations out of reach
- Keep your pets locked safely in a room away from the frequent " guests"
